Welcome to 2026 Glen Erin Horse Camp! Thank you for supporting us in the 2025season. Our primary goal is to provide the horse camper with a positive and enjoyable camping experience in an “off-the-grid” atmosphere only 5 miles from Custer, SD. The “off-the-grid” camping atmosphere is enhanced by location and design. We are situated on 40 acres, surrounded by fenced, US FOREST SERVICE LAND, on partially wooded sites,100 feet apart with 12x12 pens, and utilities (50/30 electric, water, sewer hook up, and WiFi). The camp was designed by three horse campers with over 20 years of horse camping, building, and maintenance experience. The Camp is a pull through design based on informal feedback from horse campers and horse camp planning guides published by the USFS. Glen Erin is built by horse people for horse people.

We provide site 30/50 electric service, water, septic hook-up, wifi, and 12x12 Horse pens. Other on site services include Bathhouse with hot showers, toilets, sinks and on demand hot water. Laundry facilities include coin/op washers and dryers. In addition to amenities, we can assist with area information on local sites, parks, shopping & dining, and truck service. We can provide information on veterinarians and mobile farriers to help your horses enjoy their Black Hills experience.
Rates 2025: One camper 2 horses $50.00/night-stay 4 nights get 5th night free.
Remember: Buckets, hoses water & sewer w/ clamps fittings, feed
Custer shopping: Gasoline, Diesel, Propane, Groceries, Hardware, Horse feed, Souvenirs
Pets: Dogs on leash or penned

Lynn and Rollie married, retired educators Ohio and Georgia and retired horse ranch owners in Florida. Lynn - teacher, professor and professional musician and choral director. Rollie - teacher, public school administrator. Common interests: Love of horses, riding, teaching, breeding & horse trading.
